One of the world's favorite houseplants!
I purchased an Amour Elite plant as a starter plant and when it first bloomed the first stalk produced blue and white flowers and the other stalks produced pink and white blooms with very small blue specks. I have never see a plant with two different colored flower blooms. It is beautiful! It is just a small plan, only about 4 inches across. I hope it continues with its multiple blooms when it is larger. Has anyone else experienced this before with this hybrid or with another hybrid? I would love to attach a picture, but I do not see a way.
Hi Phyllis, there is a tab called Show ‘N Tell on the site just underneath the banner photo. If you run your mouse over it, you’ll see that there are three forms. The bottom one, Show Us Your Plants, is where the form is for you to submit photos :-)
I’ve been told when 2 or more different colored blossoms appear on the same plant it is an unstable version of the variety. My mom has a noid we call “Grace” (after the first known owner to share) that was passed around for 50+ years now. One side blooms purple and one side blooms white with purple. Some of the plants from this “line” are always solid purple, some all white with purple.
Oh thanks….ill upload pic there
Laurie, thanks for the info. Really interesting! I hope my Amour Elite stays unstable! I love it that I’ll never know what she’s going to produce for her next show of blossoms!
