Q Where in the world do you grow your plants?
~ Los Angeles, California

Q How Large is your collection?
~ 50 plants.

Do you have a favorite type of African Violet? ~ Not really, but wasps seem to be calling me
Q Do you have a favorite type of African Violet?
~ I love vintage plants, anything from Eyerdom, and species.  I want to collect and save as many as I can.

Q Is there one AV that you are seeking above all others? ~  No.

Q How long have you been growing African Violets?
~ 40 years off and on. Mostly off.

Q Where do you grow your African Violets?
~ On top of Studio cabinets & on access catwalk.


Q What type of light do your African Violets receive?
~ Natural.

Q How many hour a day do your plants receive light?
~ Whatever the sun provides.


Q What type of water do you use?
~ Filtered tap.

Q What type of fertilizer do you use?
~ Shulz at 1/2 recommended rate.

Q What watering methods do you use?
~ Wicking from individual reservoirs. Turkey baster for unwicked babies.


Q What are the temperatures like where you grow?
~ Between 50 degrees and 110 degrees in a mostly glass house without air conditioning.

Q What is the humidity of your plant area?
~ Desert level.

Q Any additional information you would like to share?
~ I experiment a lot, mostly with soil mixes, and a plant has to in really pathetic shape (dead for at least 2 months) for my to throw it out.
