Welcome to My Sunroom
Hi Everyone – I know you are expecting an episode today, but I have been laid low with a kidney infection (The No-Fun Plan) and I’m just not up to filming. You have to know that I’m feeling pretty punk for me to not record for you since I’ve recorded before when I’ve been ill. I am on the mend (this has been going on since Wednesday evening when I spent a not-so-fun night in the ER), but not quite up to filming a usual episode.
Tips and Treasures
In the meantime, I know you’ve noticed that I have one of my shelves set up now for LED lights. I thought you could use a good laugh as you watch Joyce and I (aka Lucy and Ethel) set them up. While it is funny – and yes we make mistakes – it’s also a very good tutorial and it’s long enough to be an episode unto itself.
So . . . enjoy!

I’m sorry you are not feeling well, kidney issues are not fun. Get well soon
Jean, thanks very much!
Sorry you aren’t feeling well. Offering prayers for your full recovery ….
Chuck, thank you very much!
This was very educational. I have a question for Joyce, and that is, does she have the strip lights on all her collection or just one shelf? And what does she think of the difference in color? I must admit I prefer the color under the Grolux.
I’ve been curious about LED lights for quite some time. Only because their use in other applications has helped lower my electric bill. It is good to know that it is relatively easy to install the lights. I’m keeping an eye on your shelf where you have the LED lights as it is interesting to see how well the violets do under them. I had no idea that the difference in the cool white LED and the Gro-Lux changed the color of the flowers to our eyes. A very interesting episode ladies!
And I wish you a speedy recovery.
Janice – thank you, I’m well on the way to recovery :-) and I’m glad you enjoyed this episode!
Kitty, I have LEDs entirely because of the cool running temperature and energy efficiency. I have two shelves set up with ‘day white’ and two with ‘warm white.’ I’ve used these for over a year. I have toyed with adding some red lines and some blue to see if I get flatter growth and more flowers.
So sorry to hear you have been under the weather. Hope you are up and back soon. Ladies this was a great tutorial using LED lights. I built a shelf two months ago and after watching how you used 5 strips (I used three) I may go back and add a few more strips. Thanks again for a great tutorial. Blessings to you from Texas.
Patricia, thank you, and I’m glad you found this tutorial to be helpful!
